Level 1 Course
Practical Education in 6 days
The Level 1 course is 6 days and is always in-person, because it is the practical part of the education. It is open for registration only for Physiotherapists. The participants will give written exams to get their certification.
After passing the exams they will be certified as PSSE – Schroth Level 1 Therapists and they can start working the technique with their patients. However, to receive the final certification in the method, they should complete Level 2 course.

- PSSE – Schroth Clinical Classification by Nikos Karavidas
- Kyphosis types (Thoracic, Thoracolumbar, Lumbar)
- Scoliosis types (3C+, 3C-, 4C+, 4C-, N3N4+, N3N4-, STL/SL+, STL/SL-)
- 3D Principles of Correction for PSSE – Schroth method
- 3D Autocorrection – Self elongation – Pelvic Corrections
- Use of corrective pads for every type
- Corrective / Rotational Breathing
- Muscle activation techniques (Shoulder Traction, Thoracic Counter Traction, Shoulder Counter Traction)
- Activities of Daily Living Training
- Practical application of 3D Principles of Correction for every Kyphosis and Scoliosis type
- Large variety of exercises for every Kyphosis and Scoliosis type
- Mobilisations for Kyphosis and Scoliosis
- Practice between therapists
- Observation of treatment with real patients
- Radiological correspondence of PSSE – Schroth Clinical Classification
- Written exams

Nikos Karavidas is a Physiotherapist, born on February 28th, 1985, in Athens. He established Schroth Scoliosis & Spine Clinic, a specialized center for conservative treatment of spinal deformities, like Scoliosis and Kyphosis.
He is the Chair and Inventor of PSSE – Schroth method (Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis Specific Exercises), which is the latest development worldwidely in scoliosis and kyphosis treatment. He gives courses in Greece and many other countries all over the world.
